A new garden is already coming together
Lynda Truelove is sharing her new garden with us today .
I am an esurient gardener , and we moved to our newfangled home on a 7000 - sq.-ft . unlandscaped lot a little over a year ago . I have enjoyedFine Gardeningmagazine and for certain get lots of use and idea from the lovely photos .
I thought I could partake in my lilliputian garden with other gardener . We live on Vancouver Island , British Columbia , which is Zone 8 and gives me lots of tractability with option of plant .
Pink floweringdogwood(Cornus florida , Zones 5–9 ) blooms over the birdbath .
Despite being only a little over a year old , the garden is already await remarkably full and mature ! A minuscule footbridge hybridize the graveldry streambed .
The ironical crushed rock streambed even has Pisces in it — elegant , juicy ceramic Pisces that look gross half - hidden by anornamental gage .
A planting ofshade - love perennialsdominated byhostas(Hostahybrids , Zones 3–8 ) total greenery to thisseating expanse .
Mexican feather grass(Nassella tenuissima , Zones 7–10 ) makes an airy cloud in the foreground with a stout hibiscus ( Hibiscussyriacus , Zones 5–8 ) .
As this is a new garden , there is tidy sum of room for thetrees and shrubsto grow and fill in to their mature size , with perennial provide color and grain in between in the meantime .
A very felicitous - face pig luxuriates under a hydrangea(Hydrangea macrophylla , Zones 5–9 ) nearly all covered with blooms .
These chairs provide a daub to sit and enjoy the garden , and their brilliant blue colour means that they also wait on as a beautifulfocal pointfor this part of the garden .
The trivial summerhouse looks like a perfect fleck for a morning cup of chocolate . Zonal geraniums(Pelargoniumhybrid , Zones 8–11 or as an annual ) provide a good time of color in the foreground .
It ’s hard to believe this garden is just over a class old ! It already expect amazing , and will just get good as it matures .
A final smell across the little metrical foot bridge deck in thegarden path
