My love life for chicken began in 2020 when my parents decided to get backyard chickens for eggs . We start with five Rhode Island Red hen and a Barred Rock rooster , named Doodle Doo . I did n’t know much about chickens when we pay back them , but I fell in love with them right away .

I learned as much as I could about chicken by listen to podcasts and researching online . I even took a fowl division ! My daddy convert my wendy house into a beautiful coop and made a run under it . The wimp are my responsibleness , and I have become a crazy chicken lady already — even though I ’m just 10 geezerhood old .

When my good deal started free - order , our basset hound , Flash , made himself their babysitter . He is the gentlest wienerwurst and postdate them around watching their every move . The hombre do n’t suppose as lovingly about them . The chicken will steal nutrient from the computerized axial tomography and rend their fur by pecking them if they flow around the quat food for thought bowl or endeavor to fight for the food .

First Unique Chicken

After I fell in love with our chickens , I startedto enquiry chicken and follow Instagram accounts about chickens . I decide I want a Silkie and went to a local poultry breeder . However , while trying to cull out my crybaby , Irealized that keeping a Silkie looking clean andbeautiful might be a challenge .

All the adorablelittle Cochin bantams had caught my eye , as well .

The breeder say me if I want a “ lap chicken , ” the Cochin bantam would be a thoroughgoing convulsion . I went home with a lovely , moult Cochin that I named Speckles . What made Speckles even extra special is she was the only one of 50 other bantam Cochins to survive at their farm .

She apace spring a strong hamper with our family . The other chickens , however , strong-arm her so ill that her neck opening was naked .

I decided the little Cochin needed to come inside the house to get away from the bullies at night when I could n’t separate her . My mummy was n’t well-chosen about a volaille in the house , so I develop her to sleep on the toilet ! This helped my mom not be confused about her in the home , and there was no mess to beak up .

Speckles sleep on the privy a few weeks until the bullying was under restraint .

Speckles was the only Gallus gallus I have had that give-up the ghost broody . I love watching the process of seeing the chicks grow through the egg . Before I knew it , it was twenty-four hours 21 , and dame were hatching ! Unfortunately , before long after hatch , thechicks cash in one’s chips . This was very distressing and concentrated for me .

However , Speckles quickly went broody again , and now has a tidy child named Blossom . Speckles is a very adept and protective mother , and I am so happy to get to see Blossom develop up .

I am always search chickens and desire to get unlike unique chickens to bring to my mickle of Cochin bantam . My mom promise me that when I got my gymnastics accomplishment , called a pak , she would get me a Polish chicken . I was so unrestrained when I got my pak . Not only was it a great skill , but I know I would ultimately get a Polish chicken .

When I went to get her , I saw Seramas and Polish all in a playpen together . A lilliputian white Polish stood out , and I advert her Pac . I later got a spunky small Serama rooster , Rowdy . These two are always together and make such a gratifying couple .

Funky Flock

My pa built me another minuscule chicken coop so I could sum up a few more funky chickens to my mountain . For the first time , I ordered chicks and had them deliver through the mail . I decided to summate two Easter Egger frizzles , a White Crested Black Polish , and a Green Queen bantam . I ’m so unrestrained to learn my babe chick develop up and see my flock grow .

All of the chickens have their own personality , and I love to spend time with them . When I ’m not doing schooling or gymnastics , I ’m alfresco with them ! One of my favorite things is to take pictures and make video of them to post on Instagram or YouTube to portion out with everyone . I hope everyone will follow my flock on Instagram and Youtube !
