Today ’s photograph are from Dan Koellen in Roseville , California . We last see to it Dan ’s garden in May , when I fall in love with his topiary Loch Ness behemoth ! ( review your memoryhere ) Now he ’s back with a few more of his topiaries , and more .
Dan says,“While the topiaries really jump out at you in person , photograph them can be unmanageable since they tend to blend into the background in a photograph . Gardening in the summertime can be a challenge in Northern California with very hot day and no rainfall from May until capitulation ; even Mediterranean plants need supplementary urine here to keep them salubrious . ”

This is one of two flamingo topiaries that flank our pool. Myrtus communis was used in this topiary. In the foreground are variegated society garlic (Tulbaghia violacea ‘Variegata’) and the only snail that is welcomed in this garden. Photo/Illustration: Courtesy of Dan Koellen
