‘ Mascotte ’ Bean - I planted a crop of these additional - fine filet beans in mid - summer in a large Smart Pot and I was reap beans at the end of August . I was pleased with the quality of the beans because they were slight , stringless and tender with a good culinary appeal . I was impressed because the beans kept create until the weather made them block off . I ’d recommend these beans , specially for nurseryman with small - space gardens , because the plants do n’t take up much rooom and they provide a good harvest of beans .

‘ Green Tiger ’ crush - This striped zucchini was a real winner for me . I figure them in the Denver County Fair and make headway a second - place medallion in the vine category . Apparently I was n’t the only nurseryman who like this motley ; it gained unanimous favorable reception in the trial . I like that it was such a beautiful choice to typical green zucchini , had a lightly sweet flavor and pleasing texture . As with all summer squash , the arcanum is pick them while they ’re small - although I did allow a few to get larger so I could stuff and grill them . They sustain their stripes , too . I think ‘ Green Tiger ’ was easy to grow in the garden and on the patio .

Grafted Heirloom Tomato Sampler - Harris Seeds is add a ingraft tomato sampler to the catalog , featuring 6 plant . There will be two each of ‘ Brandywine Red ’ , ‘ Cherokee Purple ’ and ‘ San Marzano ’ . I report on the motley results ofmy side - by - side tomato trialwith ‘ Brandywine Pink ’ and ‘ San Marzano ’ . The ‘ San Marzano ’ grafted grew a larger amount of tomatoes than the ungrafted flora . The ‘ Brandywine ’ tomatoes were all great , beautiful and delicious tomato , with a bigger output from the ungrafted plant . Still , this was the most successful ‘ Brandywine ’ crop I ’ve ever grow .

‘ Primo ’ Red tomato - This love apple was part of the 2012 Home Garden Trials . While ‘ Primo ’ had a tough clock time in my garden , other testers reported the tomato had “ splendid plant vigor and a strong , early yield of big , bland hopeful ruby fruit . ” The thickset size get to it a in force option for small veggie garden .

Are there any vegetable varieties you grew last year you ’d recommend for next time of year ? Please add your suggestions here .
