Smallhythe Placein Southeast England was once possess by Dame Alice Ellen Terry , a notable English actress of the former nineteenth and other 20th centuries . The prop includes an early 16th - one C house and garden .
I think it was worth a visit to Smallhythe , since I was in the area to see the garden at Sissinghurst and at Great Dixter . I was not disappointed !
I require to share a few photos taken on May 28 , 2023 . They are chiefly of therosesclose to the house and of thecottage - stylerose garden . Many of the rose plants were just start up to blossom . In one of the photos , you may be able-bodied to see how the cane were electrify to the star sign in place .
In the enclosed bungalow garden , the grasspathsdivide the garden into four rectangular areas . The brick path hold out all the way around the stunned edges . The edges of the engraft areas looked sharply defined and pertly dig up . I am fond of spade - edged beds in my gardens . The allium was abundant and the roses had some clear flowers but many unopened buds . unflawed purple lupins develop just out of doors of the bungalow garden .
It was a beautiful and relaxing piazza to visit !
