Looking back on garden highlights
Today we ’re visiting Jana Trusz ’s garden in Canton , Massachusetts .
I love check up on out the Garden Photos of the Day , and I detect great delight and inhalation in look at these garden . This meter of year is so rich with colour and striking lighting , yet it is also the time for balance and reflection in the garden . I start to look at pic from the yr in my garden and had a difficult time choosing what I have a go at it the most . My garden borders conservation estate , wild Natalie Wood , which means flock of wildlife and a duty to implant respectfully . Many of my plants have made their way here from my female parent ’s garden . We share an incredible passion for aid , planting , and admiring together .
I have chosen some of my front-runner .
Spring bring columbines(Aquilegiavulgaris , Zones 3–8 ) from my mother ’s garden , ego - seeding in the most strange and pleasing places .
I also have lots ofhellebores(Helleborus × hybridus , Zones 4–9 ) popping up through the snow , sometimes as early as February !
Epimedium(bishop ’s lid , Zones 5–9 ) decorate my garden early on , with blooms endure for weeks .
I bought a prickly Pyrus communis cactus(Opuntia)without much hope for it to pull through the snow-covered winter . That was six years ago . Although it count absolutely horrible in the winter and early bounce , it then plumps up and offers beautiful yellow flowers .
Clematis ! What can I say about such a beautiful vine ? These are just two in my collection . you may see the promise of the beautiful spun gold come clump to come .

Three years ago I had a shed put in a garden spot . This sweet little bloodroot(Sanguinaria canadensis , Zones 3–8 ) was not find until the following spring . Now it come up reliably , peep out from under the shed .
My newest interest is evergreen . This is Austrian pine ‘ Oregon Green’(Pinusnigra‘Oregon Green ’ , Zones 4–7 ) . Nothing in the description prepared me for the beautiful candles to educate . They ’re like minuscule sea stars .
Asunflower(Helianthus annuus , annual ) resist marvellous and majestic after survive the attack of the squirrels . The squirrels unremarkably win , but when they do n’t , I get a wonderful fall show .
My last photo is from our first below - freezing morning . A puddle of water with the most beautiful star quartz invites me to reflect on the beauty of past seasons and to delight the season to come .
