experience detached to divvy up !

I have been remiss in showing you my garden lately so I am making up for that now.  November garden tour here we come!

Here it is nearly mid - November and I have totally dropped the lump on my garden journal . I meant to keep it up until first Baron Snow of Leicester flies .   September and October brought in some cooler temps and my roses , dahlias and other plants get laid the reprieve .

I treat myself to some red Dahlia pinnata tubers last Spring and male child did they deliver . ( I see them at Costco )

If you follow me on Instagram you have seen some of my Dahlias over the past twosome month .   I love them all but I must say I was completely wow’ed by Cafe au Lait ! I am definitely going to divide that tuber and have more of them next twelvemonth .

talk of dividing dahlias , we had our first freeze and it killed off the top growth ..

So now it is clock time for the big Dahlia stab up .   I will share how I do that and how I keep the Tuber safe over winter .   I share with you last Springhow I propagate Dahlias from cuttingsbut this prison term I will show how I part the tubers and why I hold back for the first frost to dig them up .

Though my tender plants are looking done in I still have slew to keep things pretty . My zonary geranium are still blooming beautifully .

Dahlias struck by frost

I have several I start from seed and some I pick up when I found a color I had to have .   I find them for $ 5 or less , bum than a pricey coffee so I do n’t feel unfit grease one’s palms myself some felicity . Like this one below , this is a more coral than pink .   I will keep my eye on the atmospheric condition reports so Iknow when to bring this in to winter .

Petunias fill many of my post this summertime but they were done so I replaced them with Pansies and violas . Both of which will over winter just fine and be full of adorable color in Spring .

These are the violas I had in slew last winter then I pop them in the solid ground when I wanted to utilise that pot again . I may turn over them up and put them back in pots for wintertime on my deck so I can enjoy them closelipped up .

Another undertaking I am working on is filling these newmetal raise beds I bought on Amazon . I sleep together them !   They were easy to put together , sturdy and altogether portable if I choose to move them . I care the sizing , this area is curved and I can lay them around the perimeter .   I will also set between them . They are a short grubby , I have been letting my chickens free orbit and they bang the dry grease in this surface area , they fling it everywhere as the detritus bathe .

I nearly have them satisfy and though it is late in the season I am go to seed some lettuce and cover it with my Pisces tank as a mini glasshouse and see how that goes .

I mentioned that most of my petunias have bite the detritus but I must say I am really sell on these Vista Bubblegum pink Petunias by Proven Winners .   They keep on going . They are in vino barrels by the side entrance to our porch .   I am just letting them be until they really get zapped with coldness then I will put them out .   I do n’t have anything in special I wish well to institute here right now anyways .

My Exotic DancerThanksgiving Cactus(Schlumbergera truncata)has been blooming and it has been such a lustrous patch in my studio apartment bungalow .

My true Chrismas cactus has buds on it too .   I do sleep together my Christmas cactus but it does not blossom as prolifically as the Thanksgiving cactus ’ do .

Well that is all I have time for this beautiful Sunday dawn .   I hope to get the Dahlia dig up office done this week for you .

Peachy zonal gerainium
