Happy Memorial Day , Everyone ! Today I give you a special postal service for a particular day .
These photos are from Marilyn Sherman in Toronto . Marilyn says,“Several years ago my husband Ian and I moved into a little house on a corner circle with a flyspeck front curtilage and a lawn surrounded by a chain link fence . We removed the Gunter Grass and the fence and replace them with a sundry perennial and bush garden . Then , in 2005 at years 52 , I support a knockout right - sided stroke and lost the use of the right side of my consistency .
“ I was dictated to return to gardening after my virgule , and bit by bit regained my intensity level and balance by doing more and more gardening jobs . At first I could only sit down on a small tractor and deplume a few weeds , I outwear very easily . I began to think of originative ways to help me run in the garden .
“ Today I can do most any task include transplanting , game , and dressing the bed with compost . I use the old chain link posts , painted black so as to be less seeable , to defy on to when I garden deeper into the bed . When I have to go farther then the posts allow I employ an onetime ski perch with the basket dispatch as a horticulture cane . I ’ve written about my gardening journey in my blog , Stroke Thrivers Blog . ”
Wow . Marilyn , I do n’t know if I could have been as unattackable and determined as you ’ve been , and so incredibly successful at what you love to do . awesome , and so inspirational . Thank so much for share your story and your garden with us ! !
