When I first set out onThe CSA Cookbook Road Trip , everyone told me it was a “ once - in - a - lifetime experience . ” And while I know what they meant , in a way it was almost a petty deplorable to opine I might never do something big or better than this book term of enlistment . I certainly hope it wo n’t be once in my lifetime ! I would love to do a cross - country dangerous undertaking again at some point down the line … perhaps in another land ? Perhaps even longer next time ?
Neither of us really recognise what we were getting into when we have off in May . The last time I ’d driven crossbreeding - res publica was in 2001 , when my then - boyfriend and I act from New York to California . Will did a similar trip with his then - girlfriend in reverse , California to New York , but since then and since we ’ve been together , our longest drives would only cross two or three states at most .
We had no idea how we ’d experience about spending seven week on the route and logging decade of thousands of miles behind the steering wheel . We retrieve we ’d be done with driving for a while once July undulate around … after sitting for so long , in a bound space , going from Point A to B to C to cholecalciferol to E , twenty-four hour period after day .
The CSA Cookbook Road Trip on Roadtrippers !
But you know what ? We have a go at it every . single . consequence . and did n’t desire the slip to terminate . The pace was a picayune faster than we would ’ve like , but we were able-bodied to see and do meaningful things in most of the State Department we passed through . ( Steering clear of the interstates spiel a big part in that . ) Will feel like he could ’ve driven back across the countryagainafter we touch the California slide on our fortieth daytime !
And we bring in that a lot of it had to do with the vehicle we were driving . Kia generously outfitted my Quran go with theirSedona EX , and it was simply a ambition to push across the country . We really put it through the wringer , from the slick and flooded main road of Central Texas to the steep and twisty two - lane road of Shelter Cove . Whatever atmospheric condition and road condition we were faced with , the Sedona was smooth as butter . In fact , we love it so much as an adventuremobile that a full and separatereviewwill be posted curtly .

I have to chuckle about the cost of gas in California . After paying less than $ 3.00 per gallon for thousands of nautical mile , we were welcomed home with sticker daze once we intersect the California border . As of this piece of writing , the price has actuallyjumpedto over $ 4.50 for even , at least in Los Angeles . Needless to say , we have n’t taken any road slip since we ’ve been back !
